"Clarity in glass. Clarity in power. If it breaks, you replace it. If competitors break, you replace them too."
Biography
Born in 1981 in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province — the city known for over a thousand years as China's porcelain capital — Jing Long Zhenyu grew up surrounded by craftsmen, kilns, and the particular silence of things made with care. His father ran a modest export ceramics workshop. His mother taught secondary school art. Neither was wealthy. Both were precise.
He studied Materials Engineering at Tongji University in Shanghai, graduating in 2003, before completing a postgraduate certificate in International Business at Singapore Management University in 2005. The combination was, as he later put it, "deliberate — I always knew the gap between making something and selling something was where the real work happened."
After several years working in procurement and logistics for a Shenzhen-based electronics supplier, he founded Ping Clink Glassware LLC in 2009 with seed capital of approximately S$240,000. The company incorporated simultaneously in Shenzhen and Singapore, with European distribution later routed through a registered subsidiary in Jersey.
Today, Ping Clink supplies glassware to over 400 hospitality clients across 34 countries, with particular market strength in Southeast Asia, the Gulf states, and Central Europe. Jing Long serves as sole Chairman and CEO, majority shareholder, and the company's most recognisable public face. He is known for attending trade shows in person, for a granular knowledge of silica sourcing, and for a personal warmth that has — industry colleagues note — a remarkable correlation with deal closure rates.
He does not maintain personal social media profiles. All formal correspondence is handled through his personal assistant and an internal system referred to within the company simply as "the Ledger."

Career
1981
The kilns of Jingdezhen had been burning since the Song Dynasty. His father's workshop produced export ceramics. Long Jing grew up learning the temperature at which kaolin becomes porcelain — and the price at which it leaves the factory gate.
1999 – 2003
Specialised in glass and ceramic composites. Final-year thesis: "Thermal Expansion Coefficients in Borosilicate Alloys Under Industrial Cooling Regimes." Graduated top 12% of cohort. Described by his thesis supervisor as "the most commercially minded engineer I have supervised in twenty years."
2004 – 2005
The year that, by his own account, changed everything. The certificate programme ran evenings; days were spent walking Singapore's streets and meeting its traders. His first distribution contact — now a senior PCG regional partner — was met on an MRT platform in Bugis in November 2004.
2005 – 2009
Four formative years in one of the world's most competitive supply chain environments. The employer is not publicly named. His LinkedIn profile, which existed briefly in 2011 before being deleted, listed only "Senior Procurement Advisor, Consumer Electronics Sector." What is known: he left with a precise understanding of how China's manufacturing base could be directed toward premium markets.
2009
Incorporated simultaneously in Shenzhen and Singapore. Seed capital of S$240,000, partly borrowed from three former university classmates. First product delivered to a Singapore hotel chain in October 2009. First export order — to a Dubai hospitality group — followed in March 2010. The company has been profitable every year since 2011.
2012
The Longquan lead-crystal range repositioned Ping Clink as a premium supplier, not merely a contract manufacturer. First appearance at Ambiente Frankfurt. Two major Central European distribution agreements signed by year-end. Revenue doubled within 18 months.
2016
European distribution restructured through a Jersey-registered entity. Described by the company as standard international tax and logistics optimisation. The restructure preceded a 40% increase in European revenues over the following three years.
2020 – 2021
Hospitality revenues fell approximately 60% in 2020. The company pivoted to domestic retail channels and direct-to-consumer online sales. No employees were made redundant. Jing Long is reported not to have drawn a salary for 14 months. The company returned to full operational capacity by Q2 2021.
2024
The Foundation's 2024 Education Development Fund donation of ¥10,000,000 was presented at a public ceremony in April. The Foundation, which Jing Long established in 2018, focuses on residential welfare projects and education funding across Guangdong Province.
Present
A collaboration with a Jingdezhen-based ceramic artist (name pending announcement) brings together the company's two aesthetic traditions. North American distribution is under active development. Jing Long continues as sole Chairman and CEO. No IPO plans have been confirmed or denied.
Philanthropy
Education Development Fund · 2024
¥10M
Founded in 2018, the Jing Long Charity Foundation focuses on residential welfare projects and education development across Guangdong Province. The 2024 donation ceremony — attended by community leaders, educators, and PCG staff — marked the Foundation's largest single contribution to date.
"Business and community are not separate things. What the company earns, the community helped create."
